Foster's Election Brings Democratic Lean to IL-14

On November 4th, 2008 The Clinton Group celebrated Bill Foster's re-election to the US House of Representatives.  The 14th, Dennis Hastert's former district, leans Republican and Democrats have had little success there in the past. Targeted as a possible pick-up for the GOP, Foster built on his special election win earlier in the year and defeated Jim Oberweis with 53% of the vote.

The Clinton Group played a large role in swing voter identification as well as Get-Out-the-Vote for the campaign and was credited with a significant impact on its success.   GOTV messages were targeted on the household level with specific communications going to a number of distinct message groups.  Working with the campaign, TCG coordinated a series of communications designed to persuade the undecided and turn out the favorable, culminating in Foster's triumph.
