Grassroots Campaigns for Maryland State Teachers Association
The Solution
The Clinton Group developed a direct contact program to present the case and persuade individuals to donate to The Fund for Children, well in advance of the election efforts.
For the persuasion program to be effective, contact timing was critical -- the telephone and mail messages had to complement and build on one another and that required the delivery of the contacts be precisely timed.
Following a live telephone call describing the campaign plans and urging individuals to donate to the PAC, a thank you letter and donor card had to be received within three days of pledges. Any lapse in collecting the donation greatly decreased the chance of the pledge being fulfilled.
By integrating the telephone and mail programs, we could ensure The Fund for Children maximized the amount of money raised.
