Maryland State Teachers Association

Grassroots Campaigns for Maryland State Teachers Association

The Challenge

With state resources tightening, the Maryland State Teachers Association (MSTA) faced a number of adverse legislative issues in 2008 and needed to implement a multi-front campaign to elect pro-public education candidates.

The MSTA's Fund for Children PAC had historically supplied money to support campaign endeavors but had seen donations decline for several years.  The leadership knew they had to mount a strong fundraising effort if the election campaign objective were to be successful.

The reverse the long decline in PAC contributions, a crisply executed contact program to members and lapsed donors was needed that would be persuasive yet swift to raise the needed funds for the planned upcoming campaigns.
