Grassroots Support Helps Physicians
Grassroots Campaign for the American Medical Association
The Solution
TCG conducted a recruitment effort using targeted lists of constituents in households with criteria intended to boost the efficiency and quality of the program. Aimed at key committee and leadership members of the House and Senate, the program was expanded to include representatives in over 20 different states. The goal of the campaign was to build a base of constituents who supported maintaining the SGR and to create activists who could be contacted again should the need arise. The program consisted of:
- Live outbound calls direct connecting constituents to the appropriate member as well as encouraging folks to sign up for the Patients Action Network via the AMA website
- Automated IVR calls which gave the recipient the option of immediately being connected to the appropriate office and voicing their support or recording a message of support to be sent to the member at another time
Nearly 11,000 individuals were connected with their representative or senator, making their voice heard and providing a strong grassroots base for the issue and the campaign as a whole.
