The Results
By late 2007, Congress passed the bill to freeze physician reimbursement rates and prevented a cut to physicians for treating Medicare patients. Thanks to a sustained grassroots effort, Medicare reimbursement rates were not cut. TCG identified potential advocates, educated them on the issue, enlisted their involvement, and mobilized them with the proper action at the proper time. This demonstration of grassroots support, along with a sustained, coordinated communications effort, helped make this possible.
